Capellini Electrospindles is located in Piacenza, Italy, and is a global leader in the manufacturing, service and repair of machine tool spindles and motors. This manufacturing expertise includes spindles that are direct motorized synchronous and asynchronous used in milling, turning, ID grinding, and OD grinding applications.
Along with this wide range of Electrospindles, Capellini offers precision motors for various machine tool driving applications. For those customers not needing direct motorized, Capellini has the capability to manufacture belt driven spindles from large workheads, to long barrel deep hole grinding spindles. Capellini has available a standard catalog product range, but a large percentage of manufacturing is dedicated to customized new spindle solutions designed to a customer’s exact specifications.
The use of hybrid bearings is standard in all the models. With the use of hybrid bearings, the shaft diameters of the all the models have been increased to give much higher stiffness as compared to the old models with steel bearings. Higher motor power is provided to make the maximum use of the mechanical strength of the spindle Today, spindle designs are more sophisticated and customized, varying with the applications for which they’re used. Traditional designs feature power supplied from an electric motor via a belt-and-pulley system or gearbox; other spindles are built with the motor wrapped around the integrated design.
